Regal Moth Plush Doll is one of those designs that needed no extra drama. The real insect is already a showstopper – orange, spotted, and somehow both fierce and soft at the same time. This handmade plush doll is my take on that contrast.
The wings are sculpted from polymer clay in warm rust, deep orange, and dark slate tones – not painted, but shaped and patterned from different colors of clay. The result is bold and durable, with no two wings ever exactly alike. The body is soft and touchable, with plush faux fur that mimics the moth’s chunky texture and bright markings.
Even the legs are fluffy this time, which makes the whole doll feel more alive – like a plush animal you’ve never met before, but instantly recognize.
A neodymium magnet is sewn inside, so your moth can perch wherever you like – on a lamp base, a bookshelf, or even your car dashboard – it stays steady, even on bumpy roads. If the spot you’ve picked isn’t magnetic, the doll comes with an adhesive response plate for easy display.

The regal moth is a moth that regularly gets overlooked, and I was so happy to find a moth doll that does justice to its more simplistic beauty. The colour choices for the wings and the fur are absolutely perfect, and the attention to detail with the fur pattern on the body really makes this doll stand out. The addition of fur on the legs makes this adorable moth even cuter and very soft when held in your hand.
