The Yellow Garden Tiger Moth Plush Doll is inspired by an unusual yellow variation of the Garden Tiger Moth, Arctia caja.
I first noticed this unusual yellow variation in a video shared by Bart Coppens on his YouTube channel. Seeing it completely changed how I looked at the species and eventually inspired me to create my own version.
This Yellow Garden Tiger Moth Plush Doll captures that rare golden mood in a soft, tactile form. It keeps the spirit of the species, but translates it into something warm and dimensional.

Just like in nature, no two Garden Tiger Moths share the same wing pattern. For that reason, every Yellow Garden Tiger Moth Plush Doll will have a different arrangement of markings. I shape and compose each pattern individually, so your moth will always be one of a kind.

For this model, I also extended the pattern to the inner side of the wings. When you lift them, the design continues instead of disappearing. This layered approach adds depth and creates a more complete visual experience. I may not apply this detail to every future model, which makes this version particularly special.

I sculpt the wings, eyes, and legs by hand from polymer clay. Then I build the body on a dense felted sintepon base and cover it in soft faux fur. The legs allow gentle adjustment, so you can slightly shift the posture and give the moth its own presence.
The Yellow Garden Tiger Moth Plush Doll highlights a rare color variation and transforms it into a tactile, dimensional form. It blends natural inspiration with handmade individuality, while keeping the spirit of Arctia caja alive in a new way.
